What this is
A pre-saturated alcohol wipe in an individually sealed sachet. The pad measures 30 x 65 mm folded, and contains 70% isopropyl alcohol as the active disinfectant. Sealed packaging keeps each pad fully wet and uncontaminated until the moment of use.
Why 70 percent isopropyl
Isopropyl alcohol denatures bacterial membranes and protein coats. At 70 to 75 percent in water, it stays wet on the surface long enough to penetrate cell walls, which is where the kill happens. Pure 99 percent isopropyl evaporates so fast that microbes are dehydrated before being denatured, so disinfection is incomplete. The 70 percent grade is the documented effective concentration in EN 1276 and EN 13727 standards.
How to use
Tear the sachet at the notched corner. Unfold the pad and wipe the target surface with firm contact for at least 30 seconds. Allow to air-dry. Single-use only - do not return a wiped pad to the sachet for later reuse, as residual isopropyl evaporates and the disinfecting effect is lost.
Where it fits in a workflow
In peptide reconstitution, a single pad covers the vial-top wipe before piercing the rubber stopper. In hard-surface decontamination, the same pad cleans benches, balance pans, and pipette tips. In subcutaneous research dosing protocols, the pad disinfects the chosen application site before a single-use syringe is introduced.
