Epitalon

Epitalon (AEDG) is a tetrapeptide originally identified in pineal gland extracts and developed by Russian gerontologist Vladimir Khavinson. This peptide activates telomerase enzyme activity, leading to dose-dependent telomere length extension through enhanced hTERT expression and alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT) pathways. Recent research demonstrates that Epitalon stimulates telomerase activity while simultaneously improving mitochondrial health, reducing reactive oxygen species, and upregulating key longevity markers including PGC-1alpha, SIRT-1, and BCL2. Notable for its geroprotective, neuroprotective, and antimutagenic effects, Epitalon represents a promising research compound for studying cellular aging and telomere biology.
